Prayer. It is important to communicate with God throughout your day. He gives us meaning and direction in life, and your day will go more smoothly if you stay in constant dialogue with Him. Talk to Him constantly, even if it is something as simple as thanking and praising Him for the beauty in creation around you, or singing praise songs while driving to work.
Interact with those around you. It can be so easy to get wrapped up in the every day hustle and bustle of life and not make time for real conversations with real people. It is fast and convenient to text or email someone instead of having a face-to-face conversation. We are social beings, and we need to make time to have meaningful conversations and interactions with one another, even if we are feeling tired at the end of the day. Invest in one another and create memories. You wont regret it.
Take care of yourself. It is important to take care of yourself, and keep your body healthy. It is easier for me to be conscious of what I put into my body since I am gluten-free, but to be honest, it is hard for me to get the motivation to work out. This is something I need to work on! Exercising will help increase your energy, keep you in shape (or get you in shape 🙂 ), and boost your self-esteem. It is also important to take the time to make yourself presentable, even if you only have the time to do a coat of mascara and put on a necklace. If you look good, you will feel good about yourself and will have more confidence.
Do something for someone. I am a big advocate for helping others. Not only do you need to take care of yourself, but you should care for others. When you take a few moments out of your day to do something for another person, it takes your focus off of yourself and puts it on serving someone else. You can leave an encouraging note on the car windshield for your spouse, make a batch of cookies for your office mates, pay for the person in line behind you, or volunteer somewhere.
