Tales of the Weekend

5am came too early Saturday morning. We rolled out of bed, rubbed our bloodshot eyes, and fumbled around, getting ready for our adventurous weekend. We had to leave no later than 5:45am. So much for having a sleep-in day! We hoped on a plane and in one hour we were landing among another set of mountains. We walked as quickly as we could through the airport, scouring for a familiar face. My eyes fell upon my sister-in-law who was waving and had lifesavers in her hand…coffee!
A little over a week ago we made a spur of the moment decision to fly to Salt Lake City to meet up with our sister-in-law and brother-in-law to watch the Real Salt Lake vs. Columbus Crew professional soccer game. And it was a jam-packed weekend full of fun. We were non-stop from sun-up to sun-down. We explored the city, shopped-till-we-dropped, walked through a HUGE farmers market, ate tacos from a taco stand that were fantastic, and of course watched the Real Salt Lake game.
Sunday morning we went to a cute diner from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and it was spectacular! We had to wait a little, as it was packed, but it sure was worth it! Isn’t the chalk art amazing? I can’t imagine how long it would take to draw those mountains!
All-in-all it was a memorable weekend that went by too quickly. Before we knew it, we were back on the plane heading home. We are already planning for another adventure! 🙂
