i can still talk about christmas and new years, right?

I know it is already mid-January, and I know that I am a little behind on sharing about my Christmas and New Years, but I say it’s better late then never.  Since I’m late in the game, let’s make this post one big scrolling party!

Let it be known that we got our first real Christmas tree this year…a tree from in the w i l d and it sure was an adventure!  We had to get a mile back into the forest with thigh deep snow and only one snowmobile, so like anyone else would do, we tied two sleds to the back of it and were pulled in two at a time.  It was probably the most fun I have ever had on a sled!  And I think it was everyone’s highlight of the vacation.  Sadly I didn’t get any pictures of the adventure.

While with my family, we carried on the tradition of having a gingerbread house making contest.  We had 45 minutes to create a house, and it was fun to see how everyone interpreted the word “house” differently.

We went snowmobiling and sledding in our background which was a lot of fun!  We would sled down the hill and then be pulled up by the snowmobile!  (If you haven’t noticed, we really enjoyed being behind the snowmobile in the snow!)

We also visited James’ family and had a great time there!  While I don’t have many pictures, we had a fantastic time seeing family and exploring the outdoors!  We played broom-ball no less than three times, enjoyed the shops on the square, tumbled in the snow playing football, and brought in the new year with friends and family.

Really enjoyed reading about your Christmas, especially the gingerbread house making contest. Looking forward to doing that when all of the Mini’s are big enough to participate 🙂
